BOSSIP Exclusive: Author Latisha Robb Dishes On Spirituality & Her Self-Help BookBOSSIP exclusive… Author Latisha Robb Dishes On Her BookAtlanta based author Latisha Robb recently chatted with BOSSIP about her hopes to educate the urban Christian community on what they’re missing out on about their spirituality.Below the speaker/”spiritual disruptor” breaks down her two books; one that details her coming of age story, and the other that she hopes will inspire spiritual awakenings. Tell us about your background and how you got started writing. I’m from California, I used to be in the Navy. Got out the Navy and started stripping, then I was dancing and started doing real estate. That led me to a point where I could reflect on my life and start a journal and God told me to turn that [journal] into a book and that’s how I became an author. Is what you wrote in your journal what turned into your book “Turn On The Lights So You Can See”? Click here for the full article.
Latisha Robb seized her own destiny when she found herself homeless with four children, abandoned by her husband. This led her into self-discovery through New Age and Eastern religion. Less than seven years later, she is a self-made woman in real estate with a global clientele, a philanthropist and a leader in business and spiritual thought.
Below is an excerpt: How Did You Start Using Your Talents In survival mode just out of the Navy, Latisha became an exotic dancer. “If I didn't work, I didn't make money. If I worked, I did. The energy that I put into it paid off.” With that knowledge, she focused on learning real estate and quickly became a top performer three years in a row. The Most Impactful Turning Point? At 22, in a bad marriage, with her husband’s kids and her own, Latisha had a nightmare: She went to bed at 22 and woke up in exactly the same situation at 30. “That really scared me! It lit a fire under me and made me want to change.” The Most Powerful Lesson Learned? The turning points in our lives—good or bad—are there for a reason. I’ve learned that your pain is your purpose and it creates who you are. When we look at what we've been through with different eyes, we realize how our experiences can benefit others.
